What is a hang tag ?

The hang tag, also being called the clothing certificate. It is one of the accessories of a piece of clothing, and it is also the business card of a piece of clothing.

From the point of view of the production materials, most of the tags are paper, and some high-end brand clothes tags may be plastic or metal. Now, with the development of science and technology, there is a new type of hangtag, which is made with holographic anti-counterfeiting technology. This type of hangtag is more functional, and top brand clothing will use such a hangtag. Consumers can use such hang tags to identify authenticity.

In terms of shape, different types of brands have different shapes of tags. The more common ones are rectangles, squares, and there are also circles and triangles. Three-dimensional tags are rare, but the unique shape has also attracted many consumers.

Information contained in the clothing tag

The hangtag of the clothes must include the name of the company that manufactures the clothes, the place of production; the model and specifications of the clothes; the various ingredients and components of the clothes; these classes are indispensable.

1. Size specification: The specifications and model specifications of the clothes indicate that the current national clothing size specifications are generally selected at this stage, such as 170/88A, in which 170 (cm) indicates the height and 88 (cm) indicates the hip circumference or bust size, A indicates the body type, and the body type is indicated by A, B, C, Y, respectively: normal, slightly fat, fat and thin.
2. Safety level: Look at the safety level of the clothes according to the tag, especially the clothes purchased for the baby at home. The safety level must be Class A, and the safety level of pregnant and baby products must be marked. The safety level of underwear is Class B, which can immediately match the skin touch level, and Class C is a product that cannot be touched with the skin.
3. Quality grade: The quality grade of the product is divided into: high-quality product, first-class product, second-class product and qualified product.
4. Washing logo: The washing logos marked on the tag must be arranged in the prescribed order. The order of cleaning, drying and ironing cannot be disordered. In addition, the pattern design of various logos also has relative standards.

Mounting types of hang tags

There are generally three mounting types for clothing tags, one is sticker, the other is roll tag printing, and the other is single tag printing.

• Stickers
  It can be seen everywhere in many OEM clothing, tail goods processing and other commodities. Clothing manufacturer choose this method for two reasons: on the one hand, it is easy to operate, the self-adhesive can be easily pasted, and the content of the certificate can be changed at will; On the other hand, self-adhesive printers are relatively cheap.
• Roll printing tag
  The certificate information does not need to be pasted with self-adhesive, directly printed, the price is more realistic, and the cost of manual sticking is saved.
• Single printing tag
  It is similar to the roll tag, the certificate information is directly printed on the back of the tag, the difference is the tag paper, the roll tag paper is a whole roll, the paper is thinner, and the edges are serrated, and it needs to be hand torn after printing. The single tag paper is cut one by one, the thickness is much thicker than that of the roll, and the edges are smooth and flat, and there is no need to manually tear it after printing.

Matters needing attention in hang tag printing

1. Spacing, the text (or pictures) on the layout must be separated by 3mm from the cutting edge to avoid being cut during cutting. After the text is converted into a curve, please pay attention to whether there is a disorder of skipping or overlapping between words or lines. The text must be turned into a curve or outlined. Do not use system characters. If you use them, there will be white nodes at the intersection of printing strokes. If there is a white node at the intersection of the strokes, it can be processed with the instruction to break up. Do not use overprint fill for black text.
2. The printing color is required for the color that cannot be printed by the printer. When planning, the customer must refer to the percentage of the CMYK color spectrum to decide the planning color. At the same time, note that the CMYK chromatogram produced by different manufacturers is affected by the selected printing paper, printing ink type, printing pressure and other factors, and there will be some differences in the same color block.
3. The color of the hang tag printing manufacturer will be different when printing different versions, and the color difference is normal within 10% (due to the different control of printing ink volume each time).
4. Please try to avoid the use of dark or full-color combinations in planning the color matching of the color blocks, so as to prevent back printing after cutting. Due to the small amount of hang tag printing, ink spots will occasionally appear where there are the same large area of ​​color blocks on the front and back.
5. The shading of the tag or the color of the base map should not be less than 10%, otherwise it will not appear when the finished product is printed.

Other functions of hang tags

1. Helps clear gaps
When we clean the home, there are some dead corners that are very difficult to clean. We have tried various tools, but there are still residues, especially some cracks in doors, floor tiles, and kitchen sinks. At this time, we can use the tags on the clothes to insert into these gaps and scrape out the dirty things. Paper tags can be thrown away after one-time use, while plastic or metal tags can be washed and reused.
